Why does Gemworks need a coin?
The coin allows us to keep the marketplace fee free, for buyers and sellers.
The way this works is explained in the next section.
What does "run in the background" mean?
After the coin launches for trading on exchanges everything transacts and runs on the Next-Gem Coin in the background thanks to custom bridging technology that runs in the background, built by the entire team over at Thirdweb. No matter the payment method, everything is Golden.
What this means, and How it Works:
For the Marketplace: Sellers price everything in USD.
Buyers can pay with a credit or debit card, and also any coin or token on any blockchain — including Forever Coin.
At the moment of sale the money spent by the buyer is converted on exchanges to Forever Coin thanks to powerful backend internal bridge we use.
The seller is paid in the Forever Coin — and if he or she chooses, they can sell their coins for a fraction of what a typical marketplace fee might have been.
This benefits everyone.
It keeps prices lower for buyers, and the marketplace feel-less for sellers.
For Gemworks: Like sellers, Gemwork’s will price our tools (see roadmap) and everything else we sell, in USD. Buyers can pay us with a credit or debit card, or any token on any chain – including Forever Coin and the same bridge (to our coin) logic as above applies..
Ultimately, on the frontend, everything feels web2/normie, with options to pay in web3. In the background though, everything transacts and runs on the Forever Coin for the win.
What exchanges will the coin trade on?
For CEX’s: Forever will trade in the Coinbase app, and the OKX app on the day of launch.
For DEX’s: We’ll be available on Uniswap on launch day.
